Our Program

On October 13, 2021, the GE Foundation, with GE Aviation and the University of Cincinnati, launched Next Engineers Cincinnati. Together, we are investing in Greater Cincinnati’s youth — the future engineers who will drive the change the world needs.

GE Aviation employees: are you interested in volunteering for Next Engineers? If so, contact the Cincinnati Team for more information.

Engineering Discovery
Ages 13-14

Opportunities to explore and discover

Students (ages 13 to 14) build awareness about what engineers do through a variety of short, exploratory sessions led by GE engineers. Volunteers deliver creative, hands-on activities in the classroom or community to inspire young people and expand their understanding of what engineering is all about.

Engineering Camp
Ages 14-15

An immersive learning experience

In the summer of 2022, Next Engineers Cincinnati will offer a series of Engineering Camps, perfect for 8th and 9th grade students. Students (ages 14 to 15) are immersed in the engineering process through a week-long camp experience. Students interact with experienced engineering faculty, staff, and business leaders as they complete design challenges inspired by real-world scenarios, building an identity as aspiring engineers. All Engineering Camps are free of cost.

Camp applications for 2022 are now closed. Stay tuned for information on Camp in 2023.
