Engineering Discovery in Cincinnati

April 30, 2023

Next Engineers Cincinnati returned for a second visit to a slate of local middle schools for Engineering Discovery events! Over the past few months students from schools such as Lockland, Winton Woods, and Woodward, Withrow, and Mt. Healthy participated in Discovery Day with a new activity! Students were tasked with designing and building a marble run that keeps a marble in motion as long as possible. Using only simple materials such as toothpicks and cardboard, teams of students worked together to build the best course for their marble. Students were supported by volunteers from GE Aerospace during the activity. Volunteers offered guidance, encouragement, and crucial insight into what it’s like to be an engineer!
