Engineering Discovery Kicks Off in Cincinnati

Your only supplies are pipe cleaners and straws. Can you build a tower that can hold the weight of a golf ball? 🤔

That was the engineering challenge in front of 150 Cincinnati Public middle school students when they participated in the recent GE Next Engineers inaugural event. GE volunteers led the students through the process, exposing them to the thrill that comes with building a world that works.

Congrats to the team that built the tallest tower — it measured 37 inches! This is just the beginning of how GE Next Engineers and the University of Cincinnati will engage students in the field of engineering.
