The Cincinnati Next Engineers: Engineering Camp welcomed over 100 students for an immersive experience throughout June and July of this summer! Over three weeks, students participated in Engineering Design Challenges, met with volunteers from GE Aerospace, and were exposed to new engineering concepts and career opportunities.

Each week, campers were tasked with working collaboratively on a Capstone Challenge that required groups to navigate the engineering design process while working towards a given goal. Campers work on projects like building a working speaker, designing and building a blimp, and constructing a truss bridge using only spaghetti.

Not only did campers learn about engineering principles, they also focused on employability skills such as public speaking, communication and introductions to various engineering careers. We look forward to seeing some of these students in Engineering Academy and beyond!
