Our volunteers continue to be an integral source of support and motivation for Next Engineers! In 2025, we reached 9,100 total hours of volunteering across our programming, with 2,500 hours in Engineering Academy, over 1,400 in Engineering Camp, over 1,300 in Engineering Discovery, and almost 800 in Global Engineering Discovery! Through our volunteers, learners in every stage of development reported gaining valuable, practical knowledge in engineering skills, education pathways, and careers.

“The GE volunteers have given me insight on what day-to-day life as an engineer is like,” said one participant. “The insight they give me helps me on my way to becoming an engineer.”

Over these 9,100 hours, our volunteers reached 8,700 unique young people in 2025, guiding them through engineering exploration activities and hands-on design challenges in addition to detailing their experiences as engineers.

“The support from GE volunteers has been incredibly motivating. They have not only helped me understand engineering concepts better but have also given me the confidence to explore new ideas and challenges,” said another student.

Volunteer Feedback Metric 2026

The impact GE volunteers have had on Next Engineers students is rooted in a genuine passion for engineering and mentoring would-be engineers — when surveyed, most volunteers reported a “very positive experience” with Next Engineers and reported recommending it to other colleagues.

“Their mentorship and encouragement have played a big role in shaping my interest in engineering.”

Thank you to all of our volunteers! Your time and dedication are supporting the next generation of engineers!
